Mostra: The American Supermarket, 1964

Mostra organizzata a New York, nella galleria Paul Bianchinni, a cui partecipano i più grandi artisti pop del momento, tra i quali Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Tom Wesselmann, Jasper Johns o Billy Apple. Andy Warhol era criticato come un promotore del consumismo smisurato attraverso l'acquisto senza senso, ed é per questo che lui ha organizato questa mostra, prendendo in giro la critica. La mostra aveva un'area in cui si rappresentava un supermercato tipico americano, i cui prodotti (tanto i pacchi come la stesa frutta,la carne, i manifesti...) erano fatti per questi artisti. La mostra tenta di eliminare la differenza tra prodotto e arte.

participe the most important pop artists at this moment, such as Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Tom Wesselmann, Jasper Johns or Billy Apple. Andy Warhol was Criticized as a promotor of consumism and no reason shopping, and for this reason he has organizated this exposition, joking with critics.The exposition had an area which rappresented a tipical american supermarket, which products (as box as fruit, meat, posters..) were made by these artists. The exposition wants to eliminate the difference between product and art.
